Statement

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY 

FRUITS ZINE is written on the lands of the Gadigal People and illustrated on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung Peoples of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge that sovereignty of these lands has never been ceded. 

We pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of Country right across this vast continent and its surrounding islands who have been caring for these lands, waters and skies since time immemorial, and the Traditional Custodians of today who continue to live in enduring connection to culture, despite ongoing processes of brutal and violent colonisation. 

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People as the First and Original Storytellers, and we recognise their ways of storytelling as survival, as resistance, as connection to culture, as joy, and as a way to care for Country.

We acknowledge, too, that LGBTQIA+SB People have lived and loved on these lands since time immemorial. 

We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
